The first half of our trip turned out to be a familiar place to Troop 8 - good ol' Camp Sequassen. After unloading our gear, we took a hike, heading for the north perimeter trail. Our faithful guides lost the 'yellow' trail at a crossroad, but the 'red' trail rewarded us with a 'teaser' wall for the climbing tower. After a bit of fun there, with dwindling daylight, we hightailed it back to camp, with a brief stop by the trading-post. After dinner, the Troop was treated to a dutch oven dessert, while we enjoyed the warmth of the Savino Lodge wood stove.
Sunday morning we trekked east to the New England Air Museum for an "open cockpit" day visit. There were many cool vintage aircraft to view there. This was an opportunity for anyone who is interested to begin working on their aviator merit badge. Our resident aviator Scoutmaster, joined us to add his expertise to the experience. After a group photo next to the meticulously restored B-29, we headed back for parts better known.
